A year ago
Nana Tete Odwokwao III, the chief of the agricultural village of Amanfrom in the Okere District of the Eastern Region, has urged politicians to refrain from meddling in chieftaincy concerns.
He went on to say it will assist in restoring honor to the chieftaincy stools, the oaths made by the chiefs, the ancestors, and the confidence of the people.
Politicians' meddling often causes division among those who are legitimately entitled to the throne.
At his coronation last Tuesday in Amanfrom, in the Okere District of the Eastern Region, Nana Odwokwao made the announcement.

Dignitaries included the Okere Municipal Chief Executive (DCE), Daniel Kenneth, who attended the vibrant event in the minister's place for local government, decentralisation, and rural development, Dan Kwaku Botwe, Other chiefs were also there, including Nana Asante Darko, who is the Nkosuohene of Ahenkroase, and the Gyantuahene of Tutu in the Akuapem Traditional Area.
To replace the sick Nana Odwokwao II, who was unable to carry out the duties of a chief because of his deteriorating health, Nana Odwokwao was installed as the new chief last Saturday (May 1, 2023) in a ceremony.
Education
Regarding education, Nana Odwokwao declared that, as the world changed and education became the cornerstone of each country's growth and development, he would enlist the help of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other governmental interventions to set up vocational training schools in the region to educate those who were interested.
He pointed out that this would raise people's standards of living and stop the rural-urban movement that had deprived the region of its youth.
Health: In order to enhance healthcare, Nana Odwokwao promised to have regular meetings with the town's healthcare management committee.
Concerning social vices and adolescent pregnancy, the chief said that he would host forums and seminars for young women in the town and invite eminent women of experience to inform them of what they might do to better their future or their aspirations.
Additionally, he requested that residents keep an eye on the town's young ladies to make sure they do not stray and are properly equipped to mature and succeed the elderly.
DCE talks
In order to bring additional development projects to the town and its surroundings, the people should support the new chief, according to Okere District Chief Executive (DCE) Daniel Kenneth.
He asserted that any requests made by the chief must be heeded by the populace if the town is to solve its problems through development initiatives or public talks that foster harmony and well-being.
Mr. Kenneth gave the chief his word that the assembly and Mr. Botwe would back him in his efforts to better the lives of the local kids.
