Pep Guardiola celebrated the victory over Real Madrid with his inner circle on Wednesday, with Manel Estiarte publishing a controversial photo after the match. The photo shows Guardiola and Estiarte with other guests in a private room at the Etihad Stadium, including Pep's brother Pere Guardiola and former Argentine president Mauricio Macri, as well as Manchester City president Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

In the photo, they are seen to be making the gesture of showing four fingers, symbolizing the four goals Manchester City scored against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. Estiarte accompanied the snapshot with a message. "Four?".

Guardiola: We wanted Real Madrid

The Catalan coach said in a press conference, after eliminating Real Madrid, that he wanted to face Los Blancos: "This is the ultimate, to play a great game against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi finals. I wanted this draw, because it was so hard last year that we had all the energy there. Because it was said that these players were worthless, that they had no character.

"The level of this team is incredible, because we have won three Premier Leagues in a row, two semi-finals, a final.... I have the feeling that we played with pain in our stomachs because of what happened to us."

Pep's wounds from last year

"I don't have such high expectations that I want to win the Champions League every year," he said. "If you think I'm going to think that Carlo is a bad coach or that Madrid is a bad team, that's up to you. When people say that we have failed because we have not won the Champions League, are they saying that our opponents are not good enough? You can't always win and the important thing is to try. And one day it will be our turn. And if we reach the final, we will win it some year. I'm a Cule [Barcelona fan], you all know that, and Barcelona lost three finals before winning it. The important thing is to be there," said the City coach after the match.
