Stefan Bajcetic has been the bright spot in Liverpool's disappointing Premier League season as Jurgen Klopp tries to bring young stars to Anfield.
It was the strangest season for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
From not being able to compete for the title seriously, falling to a mediocre mid-table spot, to being unexpectedly late accused revived hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. But despite all the talk that Klopp will need to spend big to revamp the squad this summer, a young star has broken through from within.
Teenage Spain midfielder Stefan Bajcetic joined the first team in November, scoring his first Premier League goal the following month. In February, a symbol of Klopp's faith came when he told him to become the youngest Liverpool player (18 years 122 days) to start in a Champions League knockout tie against Real Madrid. A conductor injury ended his season, but his mark at Anfield is well documented. And now Mirror Football will look at five candidates who could also save Klopp and FSG some money this summer...
Marcelo Pitaluga
A Brazilian goalkeeper, with his dominant foot, is looking to integrate with the Liverpool first team. Sound familiar?
In fact, Alisson's presence makes the possibility of a future highly unlikely for Marcelo Pitaluga in the 2023/24 season, but the former Fluminese man may have real aspirations to cement Klopp's No. . With Caoimhin Kelleher reportedly set to leave and look for a regular starting spot this summer, and Adrian in the final weeks of his contract, Pitaluga will be next.
His loan spell at Macclesfield this season was cut short after 17 appearances because of an ankle injury, but the 20-year-old trained with the senior team and participated in the warm-up on match day. The big question, of course, is whether he can nod in a last-minute win over West Brom?

Bobby Clark
One thing Klopp may have no shortage of attacking talent in, but amid much talk of a midfield overhaul this summer, Clark's ability to play wide and high means his versatility. he could be the key to first-team opportunities. The former Newcastle midfielder's 17-year-old son, Lee Clark, came on as a substitute in the 0-9 loss to Bournemouth in August and then impressed against Derby County in the League Cup in November, his only appearance. best in the first team so far. And he has complemented those performances with impressive scoring form for the Under-18s.
Having signed a five-year contract in February 2022, Clark is clearly a young player Klopp sees as a future force. Next season could be when he starts bleeding more often.
Luke's Room
The 18-year-old left-back already has something many of his Anfield compatriots don't: an international league title with England. Chambers was part of the team that won the UEFA Under-19 Championship last summer and gained experience through a loan spell at Kilmarnock. But the fact that he can also play at centre-back could increase Klopp's chances of breaking into the new squad.
His current system sees Andy Robertson deployed in a more cautious left-back role. With Kostas Tsimikas' uneven form this year and Liverpool facing the obvious possibility of a Europa League campaign rebuild, Chambers could be seen as the Scotland international's perfect assistant.
