With 0 goals in 17 games this season, the Brazilian attacker has struggled with his form and health.

After this season, Tottenham will lose Lucas Moura.

With 0 goals in his 17 games, the Brazilian attacker has battled with his form and conditioning this season.

Due to a tendon injury, Moura missed most of the first half of the season. Since his World Cup return, he has played a part in several challenging situations for Spurs, including getting sent off in a 1-1 draw at Everton and Liverpool scoring the game-winning goal in stoppage time last month.

His hat-trick against Ajax in 2019 that sent Tottenham to their first Champions League final was arguably his best performance while wearing a Spurs jersey.

Moura will get the chance to say goodbye to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium crowd at Saturday's home game against Brentford after Spurs confirmed this season will be his final one.

"My heart will always be here, no matter where I am. You are my team," Moura said on the Tottenham account.

"Defending this badge has been the greatest honor. Each and every goal, tackle, leap, and flick.

"You sang my name from the beginning to the end, from the highest of highs to the lowest lows. I've always wanted to do this.

"This is my permanent home. Together, we wrote history on certain nights that we will never forget. You have my undying affection, no matter where I am. We'll cross paths again.

Since his signing to Tottenham during the 2018 winter transfer window, Moura has made 219 appearances and scored 38 goals.

An official club statement said, "We would like to thank Lucas for his tremendous service to our club and wish him the very best for the future."

After the 2022–2023 campaign is over, "We shall provide a further update on our wider released and retained player list."
