If Arsenal loses to Nottingham Forest on Saturday or if Guardiola's team defeats Chelsea on Sunday, City will win the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola compared finishing the Premier League season to a tennis player serving for Wimbledon glory and said he has no intentions to celebrate if Manchester City wins the title without competing on Saturday.

If opponents Arsenal lose to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, City would have won the Premier League for the fifth time in six years before their next match.

However, Guardiola claims he is not considering that possibility and is instead solely focused on beating Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium to win it on Sunday.

"I don't think (we'll be celebrating)," the City manager stated, "since we have a game the next day and Chelsea deserve it.

"In my perspective, we have to win in order to be champions. We need to consider this.

"No matter what occurs in Nottingham, we have no control over it. To win the game, we must perform our duties.

The best celebration would be in the stadium with our supporters if we were to win.

If City wins the championship this weekend, it will be the culmination of a spectacular week that saw them advance to the Champions League final with a surprise win against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

As he works to ensure City, who trailed Arsenal by eight points last month, finishes the job in the Premier League, Guardiola claims there hasn't been much time to enjoy that accomplishment.

Naturally, we are happy to be able to play in the Champions League final, but it's nonstop, he stated.

"The most challenging part is about to begin. Tennis players claim that winning Wimbledon requires the hardest serve.

"On Sunday, we have a chance to win the most significant contest. We are fortunate to be able to finish at home with our family and friends. We must accept it.

Guardiola is aware of how challenging it may be to overstep the mark. They had to postpone their celebrations in April 2018 after giving up a 2-0 lead to lose to Manchester United, and they ran the risk of losing the championship to Liverpool on the final day of the previous season after going down to Aston Villa.
