Last weekend, the Cherries secured their place in the Premier League.

In anticipation of their matchup with Manchester United on Saturday, Bournemouth boss Gary O'Neil has urged his team to keep up their pressure on the opposition.

The Cherries, who spent the majority of the season flirting with relegation, were able to win Premier League safety last weekend, moving them up to 14th place in the standings with 39 points.

They achieved some crucial victories in their fight for survival, including historic triumphs over Tottenham and Liverpool.

They now face a challenging test against a United club that is actively vying for a spot in the Champions League, but O'Neil thinks the match presents an ideal opportunity for his team to bounce back from last weekend's 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace.

"We've lost our last two games so 39 points is a good tally, but it was better two weeks ago so we've been stuck on it for a couple of weeks," he said during the pre-game press conference.

We set a goal for ourselves, and we accomplished it, but does that imply we're content to just stop, park, and end with 39 points? Absolutely not.

"Last weekend was a good reminder that the Premier League is harsh; if you drop your level a little bit, it may appear like a lot at this level.

"We want to make up for last weekend, and Manchester United at home is a terrific opportunity for the boys to go and perform.

We have our complete attention on Manchester United, and we've done a fantastic job of preparing for what will be a very difficult game against a good team that is still working hard to ensure their qualification for the Champions League.

"Tomorrow will be a good test for us."

Hamed Traore is still out, but Jefferson Lerma might play on Saturday and will likely wear protection after fracturing his nose against Crystal Palace.

O'Neil said that Antoine Semenyo had surgery for a shin ailment and expressed optimism for a "speedy recovery" before the start of the preseason.
