The Football Association found that the 27-year-old had broken 232 of its betting laws.
Ivan Toney received an eight-month suspension for gambling offenses, according to Thomas Frank, who also stated that the striker's future will be at Brentford.
The Football Association determined that the 27-year-old had broken its betting laws 232 times between 2017 and 2021.
As a result, Brentford's leading scorer won't be able to play again until January 2024. He also won't be able to train with his teammates at the club's facility until September.
The FA said on Thursday that it would ask FIFA to extend the ban globally, closing out the chance of Toney being leased out for the term overseas.
In what has been a breakout year for the former Peterborough attacker, he has scored 20 of Brentford's 54 Premier League goals this season in addition to making his England debut.
While the team is waiting for confirmation on the specifics of the sentence, Frank stated that Toney will still have a future at the Gtech Stadium despite the suspension.
'I've spoken to him,' I said. He's dissatisfied and upset about it, Frank added. There is no denying that Brentford will be in his future.
"We are awaiting the details so we can decide what to do. what he is permitted to accomplish, particularly during the initial four months.
"One thing is for certain: we will go above and above to assist him, be there for him, and be cognizant of the mental health aspects of it.
Although he has made mistakes, we must and do want to support him and aid him. We simply need to be aware of our rights.
In November and December, Toney was initially charged with 262 betting offenses; the FA later dropped 30 of the counts. In February, he acknowledged to the other 232, but it took another three months before the sentence was determined.
Charges against him date back to his time playing on loan at Scunthorpe as a Newcastle player, and they also pertain to his time at Peterborough and his early years at Brentford
