OLD ENOUGH, YET UNMARRIED (EP5)

 Episode 5

Yemi and I luckily came up with a plan to stop Charly from disrupting the wedding, we decided we should all have a weekend getaway and take a trip to the place where our friendship started, Accra, Ghana. This was really Yemi's idea so I'm not going to take the credit for it but I thought it was really brilliant seeing as Ghana was the farthest we could go in such short notice, there was no way Charly was going to have

access to the wedding all the way from over there. Convincing Charly to come on the trip with us was no piece of cake as expected, it took forever to convince her, I think eventually we overcame, at least I hope we did, she only agreed to come on the condition that we cover all her expenses to the last zero.

Can you imagine that? She gets to have an all expense paid trip to Ghana just because her lousy boyfriend decided to run off and get married to his secretary and she's supposed to be the unlucky one? Life is so not fair!

We invited Oby and Jumai as well, Oby was pretty excited, she figured a change of scenery would help with moving on from her nasty break up with Emeka. Jumai also loved the idea but Abdul said she was not allowed to travel without him so unfortunately we had a tag along, well maybe two since Yemi insisted on bringing Bayo if guys were allowed on the trip.

On Friday evening we were off to Ghana, the Land of Sunshine, we decided to all go on the same flight. It was an amazing 45 minutes of non-stop fun and laughter, we made so much noise that the air hostess had to warn us nicely as other passengers were getting irritated, I'm sure if it was possible she'd have thrown us off the flight halfway to our destination. We had made reservations at one of the 5- star hotels by the beach and were greeted at the entrance on our arrival by two lovely ladies dressed in kente

clothing telling us "Akwaaba" which means welcome in Twi, a native Ghanaian language, they offered us

complimentary Ghanaian chocolates which they held in

little baskets as we made our way to the lobby to check into our rooms. All our rooms were located side by side on the same floor, Yemi and Bayo had a room to themselves and so did Jumai and Abdul, since I was stuck with the two ladies nursing heart breaks, I got to stay in the presidential suite with them, Lucky me! The room was amazing, it had a huge King size bed, no wait, king size bed is an understatement, the size of the bed was one king size times two, It had everything a standard 5-star hotel room should have plus a jacuzzi ,a small balcony overlooking the beach and a kitchenette which we had no plans of using as I'd made up my mind not to lift a finger to cook, even making a cup of tea was forbidden on this trip.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner were to be strictly provided by room service or eaten at restaurants. Charly and Oby were busy jumping on the bed doing back flips in excitement, while I explored the room. It's really difficult to believe that those two are adults sometimes, I was glad to see that they had

forgotten their sorrows even if it was just for a while. I decided to take a quick tour round the hotel so I

sneaked out of the room while they were busy chatting away. The hotel was so beautiful, I wish we could've stayed for more than just a weekend. After my quick tour, I headed back to the room to meet the girls, as I stepped out of the lift, I heard a

scream, it seemed like it was coming from the

direction of our rooms, It sounded like it could be one of the girls, I quickly ran towards the room to find out what was going on praying in my mind that nothing had gone wrong.
