The Seagulls would be guaranteed European qualification with two victories from their remaining three games.
Due to their efforts throughout the current season, Roberto De Zerbi is adamant that Brighton should be eligible for European football the following year.
The Seagulls will know they need two wins from their final three games to qualify for the Europa League going into Sunday's Premier League match against relegated Southampton at the Amex Stadium. Next Wednesday, they host the champion-elect Manchester City before wrapping up the season with a difficult trip to Aston Villa.
The south coast team would achieve its first qualification for continental football, and De Zerbi wants his players to leave their mark on the history of the organization.
The Italian responded, "Good question, but I prefer to answer you at the end of the season. I would see this season as a success regardless of what happens over the next week or two.
"I am really happy of this season, but we want to create a unique chapter in our club's history for our supporters and for ourselves.
"I believe that we should be eligible for the Europa League. We won twice against Chelsea, twice against Manchester United, once at the stadium of Arsenal, once against Liverpool, and I believe we deserve to qualify for Europe.
"It is quite challenging. The games don't happen every week, but they are close together, so we must adjust and respond with drive, vigor, and intelligence.
With a game in hand on both Tottenham and Aston Villa, Brighton is sixth in the standings going into the weekend.
On Thursday night, they were defeated 4-1 at Newcastle, ending their slim chances of challenging the top four. As a result, Newcastle firmly established themselves in third position.
It was their second loss in three games after being shockingly destroyed 5-1 by Everton at home between wins over Manchester United and Arsenal, but De Zerbi is expecting a response with Levi Colwill expected to return after being rested on Tyneside and Alexis Mac Allister, Julio Enciso, and Evan Ferguson having only been used as substitutes.
