Dr. Bawumia reveals what the NPP must do to defeat the eight 


The Vice President,
 Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, stressedthe need for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to overcomeinternal challenges such as corruption, anger, selfishnessand greed to achieve its goal of "breaking eight ". 

Speaking at the NPP Tertiary Students Confederation (TESCON) regional seminar held at the University of Cape Coast, Dr Bawumia stressed the need to translate the aspirations of political partiesinto tangible actions. 

Dr. Bawumia admitted that simply declaring the party'sintention to destroy the eight-year-old government is not enough. He stressed the need to have a united party that is responsible for the factors that hinder the progress of the country and the party itself. The vice president expressed hisconfidence in the government'sachievements and said that in 2024 he will be able to end the eight-year term. Dr. Bawumia is convinced that if the administration led by Nana Akufo-Addo builds on its strongfoundation, completes ongoing projects and fulfills the promises made in the 2020 manifesto, Ghanaians will give they have a chance to stay in power beyond 2024. He assured him. a country where the NPP Government is committed to fulfilling its promises. He said, “I am bringing you the assuranceof President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that we will do our best not to disappoint the people of Ghanaand you, our brave soldiers. » 

In support of
 the government's instructions, Dr. Bawumia mentioned the appointments made by President Akufo-Addo, especially those given to the youth and members of TESCON. He emphasized that the benefits to Ghana and its citizens from retaining power would be enormous, making it imperative for the NPP to break the eight-year rule. “We are aware of Nana Addo's appointment to the youth and members of TESCON in the past in this regard. 

He added: “What this means is that as long as we continue to work hard and stick to government, the benefits to Ghana and by extension all of us will be enormous. value, so it is important that we destroy 8. . 

The Vice President reiterated the government's determination to build efficient public institutions, support the development of the private sector to create jobs, fightbribery and corruption and ensure that the youth will succeed in the future and the next generation. He proudly spoke about providing free Wi-Fi to educational institutionsincluding high schools, universities, colleges of education and regional educational institutions as part of the government's efforts to expand access in the rapidly changing world of technology. and digital innovation. 

"We strive to expand their opportunities for the growing
world of technology and digital innovation. I am happy that over the past few years, we have installed free Wi-Fi in 722 secondary schools, 13 universities, 46 colleges of education, and 216 educational institutions," explained the vice president. .



Dr. Bawumia also listed many things that the government has addressed or is doing to demonstrate its ability to overcome the challenges. These include public assistanceprograms to reduce the suffering of citizens, goodeconomic indicators, job creation and digitization of the economy for the benefit of the people.
