There's no question that Casemiro ranks among the best midfielders of his generation and his latest finish for Manchester United is proof of that.
A few have turned down United, splashing around 60m on the Brazilian this summer. Some thought he was looking for his last payday after all these glorious years in Madrid. In the end, that couldn't be further from the truth. Casemiro bought back his life in Manchester and fans quickly fell in love with the 31-year-old.
While the efforts of Fred and Scott McTominay have been admirable over the years, United have long been in dire need of a midfield executive like Casemiro.
The first thing that attracts you to him is his hot temper and ability to sniff out danger before it happens. What really sets him apart from the rest are his moments of floating genius. Just when you think you've found a player like Casemiro, he overtakes you by achieving something spectacular. His final moment of genius came for Bournemouth.
While Bournemouth's backline stood as still as a statue, the Brazilian creative saw his moment to charge. Christian Eriksen caught it quickly and sent the ball past the helpless Cherries defense.
What followed was one of the most ridiculous goals Casemiro had ever had in his career. Even Ronaldinho had to blush in front of the brazen Brazilians in this final. Simply ludicrous.
It's no coincidence that United's decline in form also coincided with Casemiro's banishment from the squad. He gives structure to the entire United team, while also being capable of being a spectator himself.
Casemiro, in this team, he is a leader and he is very important to us, Ten Hag told reporters in March. Not only with his performance but also his skills, like scoring goals, or heading [against Newcastle], or linking or intercepting the ball. [That's important to] our organization. Psychology, culture and we are happy to sign him.
"I know what a great player he is. Just look at his profile. You see all the trophies he's won and it's not [a] coincidence," added Ten Hag.
"Like Rapha Varane and Casemiro, they've won five Champions League titles. It's not random, it's not random. For me, that's always been the case. You have players who always win and always win, and the players always lose and lose.
The Brazilian midfielder is a natural winner and he is a great addition to the Premier League this season. We're sure United fans will be watching this goal over the next week or two and we don't blame them.
