Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has made a fortune since joining the Premier League, giving him an even greater net worth, one of the most famous athletes in history. .

Since completing a £47m move from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, Fernandes has become a key player at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese midfielder has impressed so much that in March 2022 he was rewarded with a lucrative new contract worth £240,000-a-week.

United manager at the time, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was so impressed with Bruno's performance that he decided to increase his star's salary to £60,000 a week.

Fernandes is also a highly marketable player, as evidenced by his support of Nike shoes - this season, the 28-year-old wore Nike's Mercurial Vapor 15 boots. That, combined with a sky-high salary, means Fernandes has a net worth of £16m, according to Surprise Sports.

Even legendary boxer Mike Tyson can't compete with that money.

The former heavyweight champion earned more than £322m during his lavish career but lost every penny after retiring.

Flashy cars, luxury homes, and fashion drained Tyson's account, leading to bankruptcy in 2004.

Since then, the former boxer has changed his life. Tyson is now a businessman, earning £500,000 a month from his Tyson Holistic business, which makes premium cannabis strains, feeds and extracts.

The business opened its first store in Amsterdam and contributes to Tyson's current net worth of £8 million (according to WealthyGorilla.com).

“Opening our first coffee shop in Amsterdam was a dream come true,” Tyson said after launching his new business.

"Tyson 2.0 Coffeeshop will immerse fans in a complete experience where they can enjoy my favorite Tyson 2.0 products just like I do.

"I've tried and tested them all, and can't wait to share some of my most beloved and unbeatable products with Europe. Advertisement

Bruno may be one of the top earners in the Premier League, but he's nowhere near the top of the pay charts at United.

Casemiro, Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and David de Gea are said to bring home close to £300,000 a week, so Fernandes has some work to do.
