The Gunners were unable to win the championship.

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, is aware that it will take time for his team to reach Manchester City's level.

The Gunners' tenuous chances of winning the Premier League were dashed with a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, which gave City their sixth title in six years.

With 248 days on top of the standings and an eight-point advantage over City in March, Arsenal was unstoppable for the majority of the season. However, an alarming collapse has seen them win just two of their past eight games.

That made it possible for Pep Guardiola's unrelenting juggernaut, who has won 11 straight games, to pass them.

Arsenal must find a method to compete with City, according to the Spaniard, but there will be no easy remedy.

"This is my job, this is our job, and this is what this club deserves," Arteta declared.

"It wasn't sufficient. We must make a path even if I am aware that we are not at that level. This is insufficient. In three months, nothing will have changed. We must discover different means to get there, but we must be there.

"For instance, we needed to play considerably better at Forest. I'm in charge of this.

"That's why we need to work to make that happen. If we don't consistently make wise choices, think critically, and adopt the mindset necessary to reach that level, it won't happen.

While Arsenal's dreams were finally realized, Forest's improbable promotion to the Premier League was also successful.

They appeared set to return immediately to the Championship for significant stretches of the season, which started with more than 20 new recruits, not least when they went on an 11-game losing streak at the end of April.

Steve Cooper, the team's manager, is grateful to the supporters who have been vocal throughout the campaign since they helped steer them away from danger with 10 points from the last five games.
