The Kumawu citizens have been told by Kwasi Amoako-Attah, Minister of Roads and Highways, that the road construction projects now under progress in the district are not an anomaly and will continue after the by-election on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

It was merely unfortunate and a coincidence that the construction got underway after the passing of the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the region, Philip Atta Basoah, he said, adding that the road projects in the constituency had been procured together with those of Kwabre East.

He said that the road project's procurement procedure had begun earlier, and the sod-cutting was scheduled for the week of Mr. Basoah's passing.

Recall

Mr. Basoah passed away on March 27 while receiving care at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, and he will likely be buried today, May 20, 2023.

amazing town

Speaking to the media last Wednesday during an inspection of the ongoing road rehabilitation project in Kumawu and its surroundings in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Amoako-Attah said Kumawu was a significant town in Ghana's history and, as such, should be able to brag about decent road networks appropriate to its rank.

Patience

He advised the people of Ghana to be patient and wait for their time in programs for national development.

He claimed that if the resources were lacking for the administration to carry out such programs, agitations and demonstrations would be fruitless.

He believed that once the project was designated and funded, the government would undoubtedly find a way to carry it out.

Impression

The sector minister expressed his admiration for the work that had been accomplished so far in the district and expressed confidence that the project would be finished on schedule so that the locals could enjoy all of its advantages.

The Effiduase-Kumawu road will be rehabilitated and expanded, and 10-kilometer town roads will be constructed at Kumawu, Besoro, Bodomase, and Woraso.

The contractor has so far paved two kilometers of the Kumawu town roads out of the anticipated ten kilometers of town roads, while related work is proceeding at Woraso, Bodomase, and Besoro.
