A new piece of information coming in suggests that, the micro-blogging platform Twitter lost $40 million in ad revenue after two notable companies received community notes on their adverts. The richest man on the planet, owner of Tesla and Twitter, Elon Musk purchased Twitter in late 2022 for an estimated amount of around $44 billion. After the purchase of the app, Elon Musk decided to make the blogging platform more fan by adding some spice to it. He made a whole lot of changes in the app to make the app fun for all its users.

After the purchase, all suspended accounts were released, and users did not have to apply to be verified on the platform, the verification badge is available for everyone at a fee of $8 per month. He also introduced freedom of speech where users will be able to express their feelings without the fear of being banned or suspended from the platform. The newest update on the platform is the community notes.

With the community notes, misleading tweets will have community notes popping under the tweet, giving users and readers the actual truth of the tweet and not the other way around. Most reputable companies on the platform are subscribed to the ads on the platform to reach a wider audience at a fee. In a new post made by a new sharing account identified as @Dexerto, Twitter lost over $40 million in ads revenue after two big companies received community notes under their adverts. These gained the attention of many and they applauded Elon Musk for his truthful in building a good and respectable brand for Twitter rather than wanting money and allowing companies to lie to users on the platform for their selfish gains.

A few of the comments shared by users are highlighted below;

on social media, and Elon's rarest W”.

doesn't get removed”.

@barelyyalex •

“Speaking of ad revenue, didn't Twitter say that we

would get a cut of the ads they placed in our tweet

threads? Where the hell is that money????”.
