"The bullet that killed thefamous Vigilante Budo was forrice and cowries" - reveals the 'Kumasi Street King'

To many, he is a modern-day Sampson, whose story is a mixture of bravery and fame. A champion of the oppressed and a sign of citizen vigilance in Kumasi, specifically in the Buokrom area. He was born Yaw Aboagye but known by many nicknames like Budo, Joe Kutani, Ali Joe and Wofa oo Wofa. Budo was a popular character in the 1990s, knownfor his great strength and bravery. His name has spread far and wide, making him a feared and revered presence in every part of Kumasi.

Those who saw that Budo was awake, sometimes overshadowed by bad events, remember him well. He isimmortal in their minds, an invincible force that seems to live forever. However, on August 31, 2004, their world changed when the news of Budo's death. Since Budo's passing, many stories have been told about how he died and what killed him. Some say thathe was killed because of a land dispute; others say that his covenant with the devil is over. However, Ashtown Spirito, a famous street king and god of Budo tells how to kill the famous Buokrom Budo.

In an interview with a Kumasi based media, Ashtown Spirito revealed that Budo was shot with a beautiful shot made of rice grains and cowries. Narrating how it all happened, Ashtown Spirito explained that he believed that the leader of Buokrom at the time, a relative of Budo, wanted his downfall. According to Spirito, there is adivision in the family and Budo leads the side against the leader. "We know that Chief wants Budo because there is a family dispute and Budo is beingused against any opposition against Chief. So we all know that they are in the same group," Spiritu said. He went onto say that the president has a group of former airmen as his personal bodyguards and thatthe daughter of one of the bodyguards is a lover of Budo. Her lover worked as a tailor inthe palace, one day, when there was a quarrel between Budo and her lover, Budo burst intothe palace in anger, attackedthe place and destroy some planters in the woman's company.

What Budo did upset the ex-employee
and swore that Budo would only do it because the men were not at home. He swore that he would end Budo's life if he did the same thing in front of her.

Hearing
the guard's fear, Budo returned to the palace to challenge him. According to Spirito, the guard saw Budo at the door and shouted, "You canonly do what you did because there are no men at home."

Spirito said that Budo responded by saying, "And youare a man?". The guard warned him to kill him if he did anything else. Budo ignored it, tried to move, but was immediately shot by the old officer. Spiritorevealed that the doctors whoattended Budo's body were shocked when they learned that the bullets that killed him were rice grains and cowrie bullets.

According to Ashtown Spirit, Budo is allergic to rice and never once in their many years of relationship has he seen Budo eat rice.
