Leeds''must-win' game at West Ham culminated in a 3-1 loss, pushing them dangerously close to Premier League relegation.

After goals from Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen, and Manuel Lanzini denied them the victory their new manager conceded they needed to have any realistic hope of staying up, Sam Allardyce's rescue effort reached a breaking point.

With four games remaining, Allardyce was brought in as a last-ditch replacement at Elland Road, but his first three games have only produced two points.

Leeds must now defeat Tottenham the next weekend and pray that a Bournemouth team without anything to play for will give them a tremendous favor at Everton.

If Leicester defeats Newcastle on Monday night, the Whites will also begin the final day in second-to-last place.

At the London Stadium, Rodrigo volleyed them into an early lead, continuing their strong start.

However, Rice, who was voted West Ham's player of the year prior to kickoff, celebrated what is likely to be his final home game for the club by tying the score with his 15th goal in claret and blue. Rice made his debut against Burnley six years ago today.

The Hammers should have been an easy target because they were secure from relegation and had a Europa Conference League final in the near future. They even left with their kids in tow as mascots, giving the event a very end-of-season vibe.

However, they left the London Stadium with just their second victory in six games, which put Leeds in a dire situation, thanks to Bowen's 12th goal of the year and a late goal from Lanzini.

Nevertheless, Leeds earned a lead after 17 minutes, although with poor defending.

Last Saturday, West Ham had fallen victim to a long throw at Brentford, but it was obvious they had not learned their lesson. Fiorentina, their opponents from Europe in Prague the following month, ought to take notice.

This time, they managed to allow a pass from Weston McKennie to glide onto Rodrigo's left boot, where he successfully swept it into the goal from a distance of 10 yards.
