In preparation for the Sky Bet League One play-off final, Sheffield Wednesday has asked the supporter base for assistance in locating striker Lee Gregory's face mask.
Gregory misplaced his safety mask while the Owls were celebrating their incredible comeback victory over Peterborough at Hillsborough on Thursday.
After falling behind 4-0 after the first leg, Darren Moore's team rallied back to win 5-1 on the night and 5-3 on penalties, setting off wild celebrations among the players and spectators who invaded the field.
The Owls tweeted: "Can you assist!? After our incredible comeback victory on Thursday, Lee Gregory's mask is gone!
The specially constructed protective cover was close to the dugout. We are unable to replace in time for the upcoming week due to the short turnaround. Any ideas on its possible location?
Gregory had the mask applied after suffering a facial injury in training that prevented him from playing in their final regular-season home game on Wednesday against Derby, which ended in a 1-0 victory.
In the second leg of the semi-final, he started after returning to the game as a substitute in the first leg at Peterborough. He gave the Owls a 2-0 lead that night and added an own goal in extra time.
Barry Bannan, the captain of Sheffield Wednesday, honored manager Darren Moore with a special play-off victory over Peterborough.
On a stunning Hillsborough night, Wednesday defeated Posh on penalties after coming back from a 4-0 first-leg deficit to square the match at 5-5 after extra time.
Moore was the target of a racist social media message from a Wednesday supporter during Friday's 4-0 loss at London Road, which the team deemed to be "repulsive."
The fan was given a lifetime ban by the Owls, and following Thursday night's dramatic Sky Bet League One semi-final, Bannan paid tribute to his manager, whom he complimented for handling the event and inspiring his team to think they could turn things around.
