In Chelsea's Premier League match against Manchester City, Cesar Azpiliceuta had a challenging first 45 minutes against Cole Palmer.

Gary Neville cruelly joked that Cesar Azpilicueta, a star for Chelsea, reminded him of his final days playing professional football because of his performance in the first half of the Blues' match against Manchester City. Chelsea found themselves under intense pressure and down after just 12 minutes despite Pep Guardiola's decision to make nine substitutions after his City team won another Premier League championship.

Wesley Fofana gave up control of the ball in his own half, and Cole Palmer capitalized on the slip-up by releasing Julian Alvarez, who firmly despatched beyond Kepa. Neville then criticized three Chelsea defenders for their contributions to the goal while serving as a co-commentator.

We've been playing for ten minutes, and this Manchester City team—which is clearly not up to par in terms of selection—has performed far better than this Chelsea team. Fofana made a terrible giveaway, Azpilicueta and Chalobah are both in the wrong places, but Cole Palmer always makes the pass look effortless.

Prior to contributing to the game's first goal, Palmer repeatedly troubled Azpilicueta, which led to Neville giving the Spaniard a harsh evaluation of his play. Neville famously announced his retirement midway through the 2010–11 campaign, a few weeks after a decidedly subpar showing against West Bromwich Albion.

I'm just keeping an eye on Azpilicueta over there. I must admit that it brings back memories of contests from the latter stages of my playing career," Neville stated on Sky Sports. "Where in the first 10 or 15 minutes he simply looks crushed over there. City is out of control and needs to double up. In the end, it's something akin to five-a-side football.

With Mauricio Pochettino likely to take over as the team's next manager, football.london knows that the Blues captain is only one of many players who are anticipated to go in the summer. Other defenders who might be traded are Marc Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah, and Kalidou Koulibaly.

Despite having a contract with the team through the summer of 2019, a sale is probably impending because Barcelona is one club that has previously had an eye on the 33-year-old. He has four Premier League games under interim manager Frank Lampard, starting in the defeats to Brentford and Arsenal.
