Although Philippe Coutinho left the Premier League a few years ago, his transfer remains the biggest purchase in the league's history. After making a name for himself at Liverpool, the Brazilian striker decided to continue his career at Camp Nou. So he was sold to Barcelona for 135 million euros. The transfer was largely unsuccessful due to injury and inability to adapt to Barcelona's style of play, which led to him being loaned to Bayern Munich for two seasons.

However, the Brazilian star has returned to the English Premier League and is currently busy transferring with Aston Villa. The second biggest departure or sale in Premier League history is the transfer of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa to Manchester City. With Grealish attracting a lot of interest from Europe's top gunsmiths, Aston Villa had to sell its precious property for 117.5 million euros.

The third largest purchase in Premier League history was made by Chelsea when they sold Eden Hazard to Real Madrid for 115 million euros.

Joshua Kimmich has been linked with Chelsea but it looks like the Blues will find it difficult to sign the defensive midfielder from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.

According to 90min, Chelsea are among the clubs given the opportunity to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

The report claims intermediaries have been in contact with Chelsea and told them the 28-year-old, who could also operate at full-back, is 'confused and weighing his options' .

Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and Manchester United have also been linked with the German international with a salary of £298,000 a week (SalarySport).

Bayern Munich's stance on Joshua Kimmich linked to Chelsea

However, according to German journalist Christian Falk, Bayern have no intention of selling this star midfielder in the summer transfer window. Falk wrote in CaughtOffSide:

“Selling players can make money. But Barcelona's interest in Joshua Kimmich was in vain. Bayern will not sell Kimmich.

Transfer is possible

In our opinion, Chelsea could sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Yes, Bayern do not want to sell the German player, but money can talk.

And without fire there is no smoke. Kimmich's unhappiness at Bayern could open the door for Chelsea to move on.

Now, with Chelsea already having enough midfielders in their squad, the chance to sign a world-class player like Kimmich is too good to pass up.
