Leading the Premier League table does not guarantee that the club will be the ultimate champion. However, if they can stay consistent until the end of the season by winning more games, they will win the trophy.



Arsenal spent 93% of the 2022/2023 season topping the Premier League table. The Gunners were unable to win the trophy despite a 247-day lead. The 0-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest made Manchester City officially the EPL champion this season. They have 81 points from 37 games while Manchester United lead with 85 points from 35 EPL games this season.



The Gunners also spent 71% of the 2002/2003 season topping the English Premier League and then lost the title to Manchester United.


Arsenal also lost the 2007/2008 Premier League title to Manchester United despite leading 57% of the season.


Liverpool have lost the 2018/2019 Premier League title to Manchester City after being in the EPL rankings for 51% of the season. Manchester City lead with 98 points while Liverpool are second with 97 points.
