A year ago
Professional Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu Twamsan, lost his life in February after he was trapped under rubble in Turkey due to the massive earthquake that struck the country leading to thousands of lives being lost. After his death, pictures of memories he shared with his Switzerland wife and children went viral. Fans, family and loved ones of the late footballer and philanthropist sent out condolences messages to the grieving family.
Few of the people we saw extending their condolences and morning with the family include, retired footballer and captain of the Black stars Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, wakas, Dede Ayew, Kudus, and many others. His wife and family flew to Ghana to witness the final funeral rites and burial of the late footballer. The late footballer left behind two sons and a daughter.
Today, the 21st of May, 2023, social media was left in a state of sorrow after one of the sons of the late Atsu, Joshua Twasam who was an aspiring and talented footballer was crowned the footballer of the year at the Northumberland Football League. Congratulatory messages are flooding all over social media and users wish Christian Atsu was here to witness his son’s success since he was helping him achieve greater heights than Atsu did in his prime.
Some of the messages gathered from Joshua Twasam’s award are highlighted below;

ready to serve. our leaders are our downfall”.

around to watch him”.
