The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, said the move by the United States of America to establish a data center in Ghana will boost the confidence of investors in the country.
This move, he said, will make Ghana an attractive investment destination for foreign investors. Responding to a message on his social media page, Ken Ofori-Atta said thegovernment is accepting the announcement of a private investment of $300 million from @DFCgov, to build a unique and creative data center in Ghana.
"After the #IMFdeal, @UnitedStates took the lead in promoting renewed confidence in Ghana as an attractive investment destination. We welcome the announcement of a $300 million private equityinvestment from @DFCgov, to build a first-of-its-kind data center in Ghana, he said.
On Sunday, May 21, 2023, the Department of FinancialDevelopment (DFC) revealedthat it has allocated a large sum of $300 million to establish a data center in Africa, with Ghana as the place where this project will be carried out.
