Medeama SC defeated Hearts of Oak 5-1 to become leaders of the GPL 



Medeama SC put in a five-star display to beat Accra Hearts of Oak 5-1 on Matchday 31 to become the new leaders of the Ghana Premier League table.

Hearts of Oak came into the match with a record of no matches at the Accra Sports Stadium under manager David Ocloo but surprisingly secured the first win and a big win at home. Derrick Fordjour started the elimination for Hearts of Oak in the 17th minute when he scored the first goal of the gamefor Medeama. 

Hearts of Oak responded in the 31st minute by winning a penalty after Caleb Amankwah was brought down in the box. Salifu Ibrahim stepped up to send Medeama keeper Felix Kyei the wrong way. 

Medeama went on the attack shortly after returning to the center and won a penalty after Caleb Amankwah scored in the box in the 33rd minute. FormerHearts of Oak player Vincent Atinga made no mistake as he headed Medeama back in fromthe spot. 

Medeama scored their third goal again by exploiting a weak spot on the left side of the Oak defence. Derrick Fordjour crossed his mark and sent a pass to Jonathan Sowah to score. 

Back from the break, Medeama tried to hold their lead for some time before they decided to take the game to a higher level. They got their fourth goal in the 84th minute when Teshie man Jonathan Sowah scored his second of the game.



Three minutes later, Kwasi Donsu scored Medeama's fifthgoal of the game. Medeama are leading the Ghana Premier League table with a lead overAduana Stars with three games to play. 

Yellow
 and Purple lead the standings with 53 followed by Aduana Stars who won 3-0 against Accra Lions with 52.
