The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has deployed 47 MMDCEs in the Ashanti region, a good number of MPs and Ministers as electoral officers for the ongoing elections in Kumawu.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is also declaring its dominance in the local elections by sending party leaders and lawmakers to observe the elections. NorthTongu Member of ParliamentSamuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is an NDC electoral officer, as is Asante Akyem CentralMunicipal Chief Executive Robert Kwakye, an NPP electoral officer.

Robert Kwakye, in an interview with Nana Boakye Yiadom of Adom News, said the plan wasto help achieve victory and preserve the party's culture, saying that the NPP's persistence in the Kumawu seat will not change. Kumawu is NPP and NPP is Kumawu, he said, explaining that this is the reason why no other party wassuccessful in the election.
