Okraku said the Black Stars are
going to win their first
trophy in a long
time.
Ghana
have not
been succesfulat the
top level since
they wonthe Africa Cup of Nations in 1982 under the late
CK Gyamfi. The team
came close to winning the trophy several
times but
fellshort in the
last one, the most recent being the 2015
edition.

uring his tenure as
thepresident of the
Ghana National Football Association,Ghana failed to
make it out ofthe group stage of
their only AFCON
competition to qualifyfor the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, Kurt is
confident that this team will
end the drought
soon.
"The team [Black Stars]
did not
get results on the
pitch, but
with the process that leads us to the
promised land, I think we are on
the right path," he said in an interview with Juliet
Bawuah of SuperSport. "Let's go back to where we took the team.
Let's look at what this team is missing, let's look at the
seasonto prepare and
make us a winning
team. 
The Black Stars are
now on course to
qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations
which willbe
held in Ivory Coast in January 2024.
