Kumawu election: NDC candidate accuses NPP of vote buying

Akwasi Amankwa who is anNDC candidate for the House of Assembly in Kumawu, has alleged that the NDC is using illegal methods to get votes.

According to him, the fact that he visited several polling stations showed that some NPP members were sharing money with voters. In spite of this, he said, many of these people voted after receiving money and following workers in the ballot box because they are disabled.

"When they distributed
the money, they followed many of these people in the polls, holding hands with strongexcuses. Another thing they will tell you is that they help them vote because they are sick or something. I have informed both the police and the EC about this development,” he said. According to him, a manhe approached after supporting him in such a matter told him that he was not well, that is why the NPP workers supported him.

“I
was surprised when this mantold me that he was not well. How can a psychiatrist get on the ballot? You cannot use this diabolical plan to rig theelection and claim you are the winner,” he lamented. Hetherefore asked all stakeholders to ensure that the election will be fair and just so that peace can prevail.

Meanwhile, NPP parliamentary candidate Ernest Yaw Anin, who reacted to the allegation, said it was a simple mistake by his opponent who had no information when he realizedthat he had lost. . Talking aboutthe strategies used by the NPP to win the election, he said, the NDC candidate can also use such strategies if he wants to.

"If
you see me taking old people in a taxi because they can'twalk, you can also take them intaxi," he said
