Nigerian Afrobeat musician to reappear before court on Wednesday the 24th of May 2023. Seun Kuti a few weeks ago was arrested by the Lagos police on account of assaulting a police officer. A video that went viral on social saw Seun Kuti physically assaulting a police officer. According to reports and information gathered, the police officer was said to have struck Seun’s Mercedes Benz SUV, which got Seun angry hence physically assaulting the officer who was caught on camera by a civilian.
After Seun’s arrest, he revealed that the police officer tried to kill him and his family by hitting the trunk of his car which got his daughter who was in the car at the time terrified, hence he needed to react and which he did. His manager also confirmed this. Seun was arraigned in court and the police pleaded with the court to remand Seun for 21 days since the assaulted officer was in a coma at an undisclosed hospital due to the assault, the court granted Seun bail and he reappears before court tomorrow the 24th of May.
