According to a Twitter influencer @Asiwajulerry who waded into the ongoing case of Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti who was arrested and charged to court over assault on a police officer in uniform, Seun is currently facing this hard time because he blasted and they making a scapegoat of him by giving him a tough time in this period. He also added that Sen has also blasted the people who could stand up and fight for his freedom.
He has blasted the government and theyre making a scapegoat out of him. He has blasted the people that could have stood up for him. Its sad to see the son of the Great Fela Kuti being paraded like a hardened criminal.
People with far more heinous crimes dont even get paraded like this.
A big lesson to learn from his story, I hope he learns some lessons too.
Seun was arrested on the 13th of May 2023, after a video circulated online of him assaulting a police officer. Upon his arrest, Seun revealed the police officer tried to kill him and his family hence his reaction. The Nigerian police have always found a way to
justify its brutality, A celebrity who has spoken
against police brutality who was caught harassing
a policeman would be taught a lesson
and in the long run, giving the police more reasons
to be brutal.
@Mubarack Umar
If Peter, Datti, Yesufu, or any Obidafts slapped a
Police Officer in uniform, and caught on video
tape and the police officer complained in a
competent court of law, he/she will be arrested and
received the same treatment. It doesn't matter whether
Seun stood with you during the election or not. You too,
can try it. Ply the newly constructed Muhammadu
Buhari Bridge and slapped an officer on duty, to see
if social media hashtags will save you.

One thing I've come to understand about the police
force is that they staunchly protect their own and
avoid placing the blame solely on individuals. Instances
of police officers harassing civilians have been
documented, and in several cases, the officers
responsible have been held accountable. Now, it is
imperative that everyone, including law
enforcement officials face the consequences of
their actions before the law and its vice verse.
@DJDaley
It's pretty sad, it's like the Yoruba proverb that says
"someone they want to burn and he now pours
petrol on himself" In as much as I don't condone
what Sen did, he's still entitled to bail, then the
the court can proceed with their judgment on the
issue. This is just pure scapegoating.
