In the Ayawaso North and East Municipalities, a campaign has been started by Alhaji Salamu Amadu, the National Zongo Youth Ambassador for Peace and Development, in collaboration with concerned youth from Nima and Mamobi.
Their goal is to help young people avoid drug use and live drug-free lives by battling drug addiction in this population.
The campaign's organiser, Abdul Fatahu Alhassan, emphasised that their goal is to make sure that young people in Zongo areas across the nation abstain from narcotics so they may fulfil their own objectives.
According to Alhassan, "Our campaign aims to inspire the youth to reject drugs and pursue their dreams and aspirations."
Afro-Arab Group of Companies President and Founder Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu urged participants to work together to broaden the impact of the campaign to every Zongo community in the country.
"It makes me sad to see our brothers and sisters in such situations. I implore all parties involved to support this outstanding effort being spearheaded by the mayor of Nima.
I am certain that, with time, our message will be understood by our brothers and sisters, inspiring them to quit using drugs and start making meaningful contributions to our country, said Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu.
Additionally, he stated that he would help anyone who was willing to go through rehabilitation and learn how to start their own business.
"In the name of Allah, the Afro Arab Group is prepared to lend a hand to individuals who are dedicated to rehabilitation and to their economic ventures by funding their start-up costs. We also accept those who want to learn about entrepreneurship.
Making a strong resolve to stay away from drugs, though, is the most important step, he continued.
Eze Dr. Chukwudi Ihenetu, the Nigerian King of the Igbo Community in Ghana, who was a guest at the occasion, promised to pay for rehabilitation for everyone who is willing to give up narcotics.
