When LeBron James hinted at his possible retirement right after the Lakers got swept by the Nuggets, there was constant talk about the legend being in the heat of the moment. Surely this painful loss won't prevent him from fulfilling his wish to play with son Bronny James a couple of years from today. Surely this loss won't prevent him to trying to win the NBA ring at least one more time before calling it quits completely. Right? Well, the folks at ESPN just made a startling revelation about LeBron James confirming he is actually thinking about retirement. You can take a look at the exchange with a unnamed NBA pundit who shared direct texts with James.

Should LeBron James retire?

Considering that James has been delivering at least 30+ points per game during his stint with the Lakers, these are numbers that only a few players in the NBA can produce. Even at the age of 38, LeBron makes sure that nobody can hint he is getting old simply by looking at the way he plays the game. In fact, James dropped 40 on the Denver Nuggets' thrashing last night. Dropping 40 points at a Western Conference Finals doesn't happen very often and very few players in the world can do that. So no, it doesn't make much sense for LeBron James to retire. He can continue playing at this level for at least two more seasons. That's rarely been in question.

What surprised us was the level of certainty in LeBron James' desire to express he is thinking about retirement. We are all going to have to bite our nails a little longer, or at least until James does make one final decision. It's already been reported that LeBron could actually take a year off before Bronny becomes eligible for the Draft. One thing is for sure, LeBron doesn't just speak about something if he hasn't already thought about it beforehand. Coming 0-3 to the fourth game, James already was feeling how superior the Nuggets were during the entire series.
