Luis Suarez raised his legs to catch Robin Le Normand
The match ended 1-0 against Sociedad but their task became easier after Suarez was sent off in the 34th minute.
The Colombian was ordered to march for high legs with Robin Le Normand after VAR intervened.
Referee Pablo González Fuertes initially showed him only a yellow card, but VAR intervened and the penalty was increased to a red card. And the striker was not impressed with the decision when he argued with the fourth referee after leaving the field.
He then continued to protest by pushing the VAR monitor to the ground as he made his way down the tunnel.
Fans supported his anger at the decision online as one said:
"Never red."
A second person commented:
"It was not a red card. A real attempt to win the ball back and catch it with the soles of the feet.
"Not even cleats. As for the 'wound', maybe if they didn't wear a card-sized shin guard they would really be protected."

Saura will now be suspended for the next game against Real Valladolid as well as the final of the season against Espanyol.
He will be missed by his side by six points in relegation, as he already has eight goals in 21 La Liga appearances this season.
Former Manchester United and PSG star Edinson Cavani created a similar moment at the Qatar World Cup when he spilled a VAR screen after Uruguay were eliminated.
