Premier league champion Pep Guardiola is always full of praise for Roberto De Zerbi and this week, with the Italian having qualified Brighton for European competition, even more so.
They face each other this Thursday in a postponed Premier League match and the Manchester City boss has not hesitated to speak well of the former Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk coach.
"Congratulations on this incredible achievement of being in the Europa League," he said.
"Roberto is one of the most influential coaches of the last 20 years.
"There is no team that plays the way he plays, he is unique.
"I had a feeling that when he came to the Premier League, the impact would be big, but I couldn't expect it in such a short time.
"His team generates 20/25 chances every game. They hog the ball, everyone is involved, the goalkeeper is like a holding midfielder.
"They deserve the praise and the success they have. I try to learn a lot, it's unique, like a Michelin-starred restaurant."
In addition, Guardiola also spoke about his forward, Erling Haaland.
"What he has to do is to be happy and play the best he can for the rest of the season and next season," he explained.
"He decides what he can do better, I'm not worried about next season. He tries to be better and have the best mentality to do that.""There is no team that plays the way he plays, he is unique.
