During an interview with Neat FM in Accra, Obiri Boahen compared the performance of the vice-president to that of thecurrent football legends, predicting with confidence that Bawumia, a hope for the post of flag of the New Patriotic Party,would assure the Ghana \ 'S Presidency in 2024. "Look at the signs of Dr. Bawumia, even in his current role as vice president. Imagine what he will do if he becomes president. He was specially created by God. In terms of football, it is the Haaland of Man City, the Vinicius of Real Madrid, and Bawumia is the largest of all time (goat) of Ghanaian politics. There is no doubt that he will be better than former President Mahama,” said Obiri Boahen.

He also stressed that the vice president is the most suitable choice for the position of flag bearer of the NPP, urging the public to ignore any attempt to undermine its aspirations through tribalism.
In the same vein, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia recently informed the Majority Caucus of his intention to run as the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party. Dr Bawumia is seen by many as the favorite to succeed President Akufo-Addo in 2024 but must beat competition from three-time runner Alan Kyeremanteng who stepped down in January this year to focus on his presidential ambition.
Affirming his support for him, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), DrMustapha Hamid, said there is no doubt that Dr Bawumia will be the standard bearer.
