International relations are important for every lawyer to understand - Sam Okudzeto

Veteran lawyer Sam Okudzeto has told students at Ghana's law school to pay closeattention to the study of diplomacy and international relations.

Speaking at the Diplomatic and Foreign Affairs Forum organized by the Council of Representatives of Law Students of Ghana on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Mr. Okudzeto stressed that acquiring such knowledge would be of greatbenefit to students. in their future work, including legal practice. "There are other legal things because when you leave here, you are expected to be a lawyer, a counselor, or acounselor. You can't pass on something you don't know but it is even know how to find things you don't know. It looks bad. Sometimes you see lawyers in court walking around, it's obvious they haven't done their homework and lack knowledge. "I will closemy speech by emphasizing that international relations is important for everyone to understand. I am not saying thatyou will become an expert, but it will help you in your work and your work as a lawyer, whether you choose to practice or work in a company. You will find that international knowledge is important because there are other countries that produce products and services that are important. You can look at the intelligence sector and find that one specialist is more prevalent here than elsewhere,” he said. The Diplomatic and Foreign Affairs Conference was organized by Diplomatic Affairs TV in collaboration with the SRC of the Ghana Law School, under the leadership of Odupong Atta-Agyapong, as part of the 63rd program of theSRC week.

The event, organized under the theme "Global suffering and international relations and law", brought together many people, including the European Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ghana, Charles Ambani, UNITED STATES. The Ambassador ofGhana, Virginia E. Palmer, and Suriname's ambassador to Ghana, Fidelia Grand Galon.

They all took turns to speak onthe topic while thanking the CBC and Diplomatic Affairs TV for organizing such an informative conference for the benefit of student lawyers. Harriet Nartey, managing director of Diplomatic Affairs TV, said she was happy with the capacity of the conference and expressed her gratitude to the leaders for attending the event.
