We will return to the international capital market -Akufo-Addo  



President Nana Akufo-Addo said Ghana will return to the international capital market soon.

Mr. Akufo-Addo said that this will enable his government to get the necessary funds to carry out its work. According to him, the closure of the capital market in the country is a big concern for him and his government. 

"We have committed ourselves to be able to return to the international market which wasa source of income for us in the first three or four years of our government," he said during a joint session at the Qatar-Economic Forum. . Africa in Doha. Tuesday, May 23. President Akufo-Addo also said that his government will begin budget cuts and fundraising programs. 

According to him, this is necessary to prevent waste and mismanagement of the country's resources. "The organization of our expenditure, the organizationof public expenditure is something that we have given assurance about. Collectingrevenue at home is very important to us and we are already seeing signs. "We have a fiscal policy in Ghana that limits our budget deficit to 5%,but we are already above that and the sooner we can bring it down to acceptable levels the better for us." 

Ghana is currently excluded from international capital markets due to its highunsustainable debt. 

But with the support of the International Monetary Fund bailout, the country can borrow money in the capital market.
