The nuclear industry cannot boast of any project it started from scratch - the former MP for Builsa North

Former MP for Builsa North, Timothy Awuntirim, says thatall the work done by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was started by former PresidentJohn Mahama.

According to the former MP, all the building projects mentionedby the NPP government startedduring the NDC. Speaking on the Joy Prime morning show, the former MP said the government led by Nana Akufo-Addo failed to completenew projects because of the money borrowed from the international community.

He said former President Mahama could build many infrastructures with the available infrastructure, although the amount borrowed was less than that of the NPP government. Apart from the transformation of Tamale, which he regards as an excess, the Akufo-Addo administration has only completed the workstarted by the NDC.

“Pokuase's turnover is
less than $100 million. We found the money and they came forward. The Nungua Reform was issuedin 2012. Tell me about a project you started and finished. So if we have not started this, you cannot be proud of the workyou have started from the ground up,” he said. In 2017, the government introduced the One District, One Factory (1D1F) project, which aims to create large employment opportunities, especially for young people in rural and semi-urban areas, thereby reducing poverty.

The former MP argued that no company has been built since the project was launched. “You didn't build because you said you support private sector development. You supportprivate sector companies to organize them, but that doesn'tmean you run the company.

Timothy Awuntirim denied the words of the vice president Dr. Bawumia said the country hasexperienced five years of "Dum So" under the NDC administration. According to him, a party rules for four years, not five, so what Bawumia said is a lie.

He blamed the NPP government for the current economic crisis, which he said was due to "careless" budgeting.
