The Kumawu MP-elect is getting support from the main contenders in the NPP
A contestant in the last NPP election in Kumawu, Dr Aboagye Dacosta, congratulated Ernest Yaw Anim for the chalked victory in the Kumawu election.
The NPP candidate secured15,264 votes, representing 70.91 percent, to restore the party's dominance in the constituency. Dr. Dacosta, who contributed to the party's campaign, predicted such avictory in an earlier interview.
I expect more than 70 percent of the votes for the NPP. The truth is that it will be a big victory," he predicted before the election.

The NPP before the 2020 election split into two factions, one of the factions publicly declared its support for the campaign for independent candidate Kwaku Duah. Dr. Dacosta found that the unity within the NPP led to anincrease in the party's vote in the Kumawu election. Anindependent took advantage ofthe division in the party. For now, the party is united so that we do not produce anindependent person, he added. Dr. Dacosta also promised tosupport the elected congressman in the implementation of his law.
