One fan has claimed to have proven that Manchester City will win the Champions League this season.

City are looking for a historic treble this season, with the Premier League title already secured and an FA Cup and Champions League final scheduled for early June.

The club have never won the Champions League but are certainly on track to do so and reach the final as strong contenders to win over Inter Milan.

However, one fan claimed the game was decided and explained why.

Twitter user @Super_JG10 created a thread on his Twitter account of 15 posts explaining why City will raise the trophy. Several theories revolve around the City's inability to win the competition. The first message says:

"Every time Argentina won the World Cup (1978, 1986 and 2022), a team that had never won the UCL won their first UCL championship. Man City had never won the Champions League and they reached the final", while the man third states:

"The last time Fulham led Chelsea was in 1983. That year, a team that had never won the Champions League (Hamburger SV), won the Champions League for the first time, beat an Italian team in the final. Man City. facing an Italian Team in the final."

The other theories are a bit more exotic, but make sense. For example, the second post says:

"Every team that has won the Champions League this century has either a Spaniard or a Brazilian in their starting XI. Inter don't have it, Man City have both."

We won't list all the articles, but a favorite is:

"Every time a Manchester United goalkeeper wins the PL Golden Glove ('09, '18 & '23), the team that knocked Bayern Munich out of UCL have won the Champions League. De Gea won the Golden Glove and Man City was defeated. kind of Bayern."

It may be far-fetched, but a lot of research has gone into yarn.

Coincidences happen, and there seem to be a few this year. Perhaps Guardiola and Co can take inspiration from the messages as they attempt to lift the trophy on June 10. They still have two Premier League games and an FA Cup final left before that, but all eyes are on June 10 as they look to finally get their hands on the Champions League.
