With a contract deal not being signed, it seems likely that Mason Mount will leave Chelsea this summer. Manchester United are said to be very interested and are set to make an open offer for the midfielder.
According to Sami Mokbel, the Red Devils are preparing to submit a £55m offer for the Englishman. Mount has become a priority target for Erik ten Hag as he wants to revamp his midfield and wants the deal to be completed as soon as possible.
That figure would be much lower than the Blues' assessment of the midfielder, but talks will begin over the fee needed to bring him to Old Trafford. United may be willing to increase their value given the extent to which ten Hags want to bring him in.
United will know that Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in him, which is probably why they have prepared for the move before the transfer window opens.
Mauricio Pochettino is a Mount fan, but there is skepticism about his ability to come and settle things between player and club.
