Chelsea star Mason Mount has previously admitted that he "falls in love" with Old Trafford as Manchester United prepare to make an offer to secure his services.
The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday morning that United are planning to spend £55m to sign the 24-year-old England international, whose contract at Chelsea expires this summer.
The report adds that the amount is well below the Blues' valuation of around £85m, but United could increase the offer in their bid to secure the midfielder's signature.
Liverpool are also interested in Mount, while a reunion with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich also appears to be another option.

The midfielder will add another scoring option for Erik ten Hag, who is looking to ease the burden on Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford. Rashford has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season.
And previous quotes have surfaced, in which Mount recalls falling in love with a Manchester United legend's playing technique at Old Trafford.

Speaking to Amazon Prime after the Chelsea v United game in April 2022, Mount - a Portsmouth fan - explained how he went to watch Pompey play Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford in January 2008 any.
At the time, Portsmouth had Arsenal legends Lauren and Sol Campbell, future Real Madrid star Lassana Diarra and former Liverpool striker Milan Baros by their side - but that wasn't enough to beat United.
The 2008 FA Cup winners lost 0-2 at Old Trafford, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring both goals within 13 minutes. One of his goals was far more memorable than the other, when Ronaldo hit a superb free-kick from close range into the top right corner knocking out goalkeeper David James.

"I think people have watched the video since I was a kid relying on my free-kick with him [Ronaldo]. I always watched him very closely when he was at United when he was young. I loved the way he was. he plays, his free kicks.
"I'm a huge Pompey fan so I went to see the game when they were at Old Trafford and he scored from that free-kick against David James. "I was really in the game, in the area, so I saw it firsthand and I think then I fell in love with the technique and what he did, as well as him as a player. a player."
