AU is celebrating its 60th anniversary
The member countries of the African Union (AU) will commemorate, on Thursday, May 25, the establishment of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) which became theAU.
Ghana's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that as the host of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the country will hold a flag raisingceremony in front of the state house. The event will take placeon May 25 at 8:00 am. This is in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the AfCFTA Secretariat and the African Diplomatic Corps Group. Thetheme for this year's AU commemoration is "Accelerated Implementation of the AfCFTA" with the hashtag "OurAfrica Our Future".
This aims to highlight the importance of free trade between African countries, as aflagship project necessary to achieve the African state's needs.
