Pep Guardiola lauded Roberto De Zerbi once more, stating he expected the Italian to do well at Brighton but didn't anticipate him to have such an immediate impact.
Since taking over for Graham Potter in September, De Zerbi has been incredibly outstanding. Under his leadership, Brighton will likely play in the Europa League for the first time in their history.
De Zerbi also led Brighton to the FA Cup semifinals, when they were defeated by Manchester United.
Guardiola praised De Zerbi before City's away game against Brighton, saying: "Congratulations for this incredible achievement in the Europa League."
"In my opinion, Roberto is one of the 20 years' most significant managers."
No other team plays in the manner they do; it is distinctive. I sensed he would make a difference and that it would be wonderful, but I didn't anticipate them to act so quickly.
When prompted to elaborate, Guardiola called De Zerbi's playing style "unique."
20 years is a long time, but the way I've seen it in 20 years is unlike anything I've ever seen, Guardiola remarked in a Sky Sports interview. He is really unique and special. I haven't seen using the keeper as the major method to move the opponents in a very long time.
"Young players with numerous seasoned players like Ferguson, Enciso, and Buonanotte. The space for the players to receive the ball is helped by how they commit. It's so
pleasant to see.
I knew there would be a reaction in Brighton since I know him a little. Keep the concepts in mind, although I didn't anticipate him to act so rapidly.
This month, Brighton defeated both Manchester United and Arsenal in league play, with De Zerbi's team playing their normal brand of football with assurance.
The Brighton team has a good balance of youth and experience, as Guardiola suggests.
The Seagulls frequently lose their best players, but they have a great system in place to continue bringing in and developing guys.
