Chelsea star Mykhaylo Mudryk could face new competition for his place if a summer transfer takes place.

Ferran Torres is a reported target of the Blues (Image:

Chelsea are said to have added Ferran Torres' name to their short list of summer transfer targets. The Blues are said to have been paying close attention to the Barcelona star's recent performance.
Torres had a disappointing season at Barca. He has only started 13 of 31 La Liga appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists. The arrivals of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha last summer limited the Spain international's game time. Arsenal were reportedly eyeing a move for Torres during the January transfer window as Mikel Arteta tried to sign a versatile striker before picking up Leandro Trossard.
Torres can play striker and away. Chelsea have good supply in wide attack areas, so bringing in another player in the position would be another blow for Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Transfer journalist Simon Phillips claims Chelsea are monitoring Torres. Scouts have been monitoring his form at Barca and the Blues chiefs love the fact that he can play up front.
Recruiting a striker will be one of the main goals of new coach Mauricio Pochettino this summer. Chelsea have Christopher Nkunku from Cobham after the deal with RB Leipzig was signed earlier this season.
Like Torres, Nkunku can play multiple positions in the top three. Any deal for Torres will make it even harder for Mudryk to get a chance to play regularly at Stamford Bridge. The £88m signing from Shakhtar Donetsk struggled to settle in his first six months in England. Mudryk has only started six Premier League games since arriving.
He made eight appearances from the bench and was not used as a substitute at times. Mudryk is yet to score for his new club but has provided two assists.
Torres had a brief stint in the Premier League, having spent 18 months at Man City after joining in the summer of 2020. He won the Premier League and Carabao Cup during his time at the Etihad and was benched in the Champions League final defeat to Chelsea at Porto.
Torres has scored 16 goals in 43 appearances for City, while also providing four assists. He scored 13 goals in his first season in England, four more than any Chelsea player has scored this season.
He still has four years left on his contract at Camp Nou. But Barca may be ready to sell because they are also plotting to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to Chelsea club.
