"I can't wait to go to Assin North to win" - "Prof" Wontumi fires a volley at NDC.

Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka President Wontumi, theAshanti Regional Leader of theNPP

The Ashanti
Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as PresidentWontumi, has declared that he is ready to ensure that the party wins the currently vacant parliamentary seat of Assin North.

He believes that even thoughthe area is outside his area (that is in the central area), he is the man who will lead the NPP to fight against him from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who won the year. 2020. "But the elections, they are national... now people call me Professor Wontumi, they saynow I have a doctorate in politics, I understand politics. I have served twice as circuitchairman and three times asAshanti regional chairman, which is a historic achievement.

“I am going there (Assin North) to win. I can't wait to go to Assin North to win. As soon as I go, I win. Asiedu Nketiah knows that once I get there, I will win so we will go there to win," he told Paul Adom-Otchere in the May 23 edition of Good Evening Ghana. .

The Assin North seat wasdeclared vacant after the Supreme Court on May 18 annulled the 2020 election of James Gyakye Quayson as the area's member of parliament and ordered parliament to remove his name from its register. The Supreme Courtruled that the procedures used in his nomination and nomination and election were invalid, which ousted him from the House of Commons.

The seat should be declared vacant and an election called to elect a new Member of Parliament for the people of Assin North. The NDC disagreed with the court and said that Gyakye Quayson will be their candidate in the local elections.
