Baba Sadiq says the boldness behind NPP's 'break the 8th' is the 'strategy' hatched by him and the EC.
Abdullai Abu Sadiq, popularly known as Baba Sadiq, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legislative candidate for Okaikoi Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has raised concerns about the upcoming 2024 general election, alleging that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) rule can be calculated. together with the Electoral Commission (EC) willsteal the election.
According to him, the NDC must be alert and watchful to avoid falling into the NPP's possible plans. The founder of 3 Music Awards pointed to the suspicious pink paper, which was circulated on social media before the Kumawu elections,as evidence of the NPP'sintention to steal the 2024 elections.
He argued that this is a warning sign for the NDC. Speaking during a panel discussion on Onua TV on May 24, 2023, he said the pink paper provides clear evidence that the NPP intends to manipulate the electoral process.
"How can you tell us it's a mistake? This is not a mistake, referring to the viral photo of the signed pink paper. This gives us, especially the NDC party, a reason to be cautious as we approach the 2024 elections because this could be one of their tricks.
He emphasized that the NDC cannot trust the EC in the upcoming elections, saying that there is need for the NDC to put more effort into monitoring the process. According to him, the NPP trust says it will "break all eight" (talking about winning the third term in a row) basedon their arrangement with the EC.
“You see, while they always saythat they will break the 8 8, the confidence with which they make such statements depends on the type of arrangementthey have made with the EC. “We cannot trust the EC for the 2024 elections. We cannot, so we need to be strong as a party to go ahead and ensure that vigilance and supervision is there, because these things are - show that they will want to fight their way through the 2024 elections," he alleged.
