The President of Tema Metropolitan, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, has again announced another proof that the Akufo-Addo government is fulfilling its duties despite the current global economic crisis. This time, evidence shows that MCE is being sold to Ghanaians by the Financial Industry Command Security Operations Center (FICSOC).
"Let the non-speakers take another document - thegovernment has given orders toFICSOC and it is another feather in the cup," Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey wrote on social media on Wednesday.
According to the MCE, “this is yet another sign of resilience that looks at the current global economic challenges head onand declares that the Akufo-Addo administration will notback down from the plan to improve this country."
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia commissioned the company on Wednesday. “Thisis a world-class financial institution leading a banking institution established and operated by the Bank of Ghana (BoG),” said Dr Bawumia.
The center is the first of its kind in Africa. The presidentexplained that "The objective is to prevent, quickly identify, share information and respond to cyber threats targeting the financial sector and ultimately the entire country. All banks are connected to FICSOC and receive security information immediately , intelligence and network traffic analysis andcyber threats.
Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey thanked Vice President Bawumia for providing the facility and commended the Bank of Ghana for setting it up.
Tema MCE wrote, "Throughthis FICSOC, Ghana has become the first in Africa and it should be known that this was achieved by the Akufo-Addo government." The MCE used the news to once again tellGhanaians not to be discouraged, but to continue to support the government to continue working on development for the country.
"During the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have encouragedall of us to maintain hope and I think until now I have confirmed - the IMF funds have arrived and we continue to work on development.
