Yesterday in Accra, a competition for young African entrepreneurs with credible company concepts and startups was unveiled.
"The Next Titan Africa" gives young, entrepreneurial talent on the continent a chance to participate in real-world business problems. Participants must be between the ages of 21 and 35.
The biggest prize is $100,000, while the first, second, and third-place finishers will each get $10,000, $6,000, and $4,000, respectively.
The winners will also receive assistance in building new enterprises or expanding existing ones.
Participants are encouraged to display their entrepreneurial skills and company concepts that have great room for growth.
Additionally, they'll need to exhibit business acumen and the proper mindset to defend their concepts. Young business brains from Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, and Nigeria are eligible to compete in the competition's inaugural season.
The competition was designed to realistically create entrepreneurship among African youth by finding the brightest business brains and fostering their entrepreneurial ambitions, according to Mide Akinlaja, the 13-week reality television show's executive producer.
They will also receive the necessary training and other services to help them become successful businesspeople, as well as financial and logistical support and exposure to prominent African business leaders.
He said that in addition to its entertainment value, the competition aims to inspire an entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrate how an idea with the potential to change lives may do so.
"The show is designed as entertainment with a thrilling and exciting format, but its primary purpose is to change the mindset of young Africans by awakening their entrepreneurial spirit to accept responsibility for being masters of their own destinies," Mr. Akinlaja continued.
assisting companies
Tobi Aloba, the country director of Tingo Mobile, the show's single sponsor, also stated that the programme sought to encourage companies, particularly those run by young people, to prosper.
Therefore, he asked people to register as soon as possible before Monday, June 22, 2023, when registration will close.
Even though not every competitor will take home the prize, Mr. Aloba claimed that the tournament was a learning opportunity for everyone who entered.
The cooperation between the two organisations, according to Tingo Mobile's Head of Partnerships Zalfa Odonkor, aims to help the continent's young succeed via innovations and specialised solutions.
