Speeding train hits taxi in Alajo as driver crosses track
A driver who dangerously crossed the railway line at Alajo in Acca found his car hit by a speeding train on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
Fortunately, the driver escaped unharmed but he was distraught as his life flashed in his eyes. According to Graphic Online, the train was travelingfrom Tema to Accra when it hit a car that was stuck in its path.
“The train sustained minor damage and no passengers were injured. After a short stop to assess his condition, the driver continued his journey to Accra," the social media company wrote on Twitter in a video description of the causeof the near-miss accident. According to reports, a witnesson the train said that the taxi driver tried to cross the railway tracks near Alajo quickly as the speeding train was approaching, but his vehicle stopped at 'the way. A short video from the scene shows several passers-by gathering and talking to each other about the development. Some people can be heard in the video accusing the taxi driver of recklessness and almost killing himself, as he tries to explain his side of the story. The taxi was left with some disintegrated parts, which will require specialrepair work to restore it to working condition. Some passers-by could be heard saying that the car was badly damaged.
