2 Ghanaian football players were arrested in India for rape
It has been alleged that a young woman looking for a job in a New Town marriage club was lured by two Ghanaian footballers to a guest house in the town where the two men allegedly raped her. The New Town police arrested the two footballers and the woman based on the woman's complaint. According to the police, the 20-year-old girl was separated from her husband and lived alone in a rented house in Gouranganagar, in the new city. On hiscomplaint, Collins was arrested by the New Town Police and taken to the Tiljala address where the two footballers were arrested.
Christopher Nars (28) and Moses Zutah (24) are residents of Ghana who came to India on student visas and were hired as part-time footballers for various clubs in the state in exchange for money. The policebooked them under IPC sections 376 D (gangrape), 120B (conspiracy) and 34 (common intention). If convicted, the three could face life imprisonment. They appeared in the Barasat court on Sunday and were remanded in custody.
